The lodge conducts an Initiation Ceremony

On Friday 2nd January, the Royal Yorkshire Lodge conducted a ceremony of Initiation for Bro John Sheriffs. The meeting was well attended by members and a large number of welcome guests from a number of lodges across the province, all of whom witnessed a sincere and dignified ceremony.

The Worshipful Master, W. Bro Simon (Jim) Shenton, commented, “It was fantastic to have Bro John join the lodge as he been coming as a potential candidate for quite some time… I want to thank all the officers for an excellent ceremony and supporting me in my final meeting as Master”. The meeting was the final ceremony that W. Bro Shenton would conduct as master before the installation of W.Bro Keith Morrision in February.

The meeting was also attended by Bro John Sheriffs son, who had been initiated at a previous meeting. As well as a member of his extended family who was also a mason (pictured below)

The formal ceremony of the evening was concluded with an excellent three course festive board that was enjoyed by all the brethren. Following the meal the candidate Bro John Sheriffs thanked the brethren, along with his proposer and seconder for welcoming him into the lodge and went on to say he looked forward to enjoying his masonic journey.
